The NPI Registry Search is a directory of all active National Provider Identifier (NPI) records. Health care providers acquire their unique 10-digit NPIs to identify themselves in a standard way throughout their industry.

Individuals or organizations apply for NPIs through the CMS National Plan and Provider Enumeration System (NPPES). After an NPI is assigned, the parts of the NPI record that have public relevance, including the provider's name, specialty (taxonomy) and practice address is provided with a simple search.

You can search easily by name and state where individual is located or even nationwide by entering name and leaving the state field blank.

This process can be done on-line in a few seconds on one individual at a time or on a file containing an unlimited number of records. This search can be combined with any of our ID validation applications.
